Skógar is a tiny village that is best known for its folk museum.  But nearby is a trail that features over twenty waterfalls in a single day!  I'm only showing pictures for 7 of the waterfalls, but each one was surprising and different.

Skógar is also a great place for random exploration; by scrambling up the canyon walls and then hiking around, it was possible to find lots of interesting sites.

The town of Skógar - a hostel, a hotel, and a great museum

The first of 20 waterfalls!

The last leg of the hike was through snow

This brilliant valley was hidden only 30 minutes from the hostel (one of my favourite spots in Iceland)!

Here's another waterfall discovered by random exploration!
