Gaspé and NB 2017

Monday, June 19

Today was our hiking day. And thanks to Alex's fitbit, we know we walked over 22,000 steps and the equivalent of 158 staircases. We opted to do the mid-length walk to Land's End in Forillon national park. A really beautiful hike. All of the little beach alcoves were all lovely, even if you couldn't get down to them. We were very happy to have the wind pick up as we got closer to the point though - the temperature difference between our motel's location on the north side and the south side of the park was fairly dramatic! We were a little bit overheated.

On our walk back, we got caught behind a porcupine that was using the path as his own personal walkway. We gave him plenty of room to avoid scaring him. Other than the porcupine the only wildlife we saw was birds and butterflies.

We went for dinner tonight at a local restaurant (Baleinier). We attempted to eat outside, but sadly the mosquitoes chased us in. A very yummy meal - a seafood crepe for Chad and lobster for Alex. And salads for both - we finally got some veggies after all that poutine!!
